Babylon’s Ashes (book six in The Expanse series) by James S.A. Corey narrowly squeaked ahead of Eric Flint’s 1636: The Ottoman Onslaught (book 21 in The Ring of Fire series), and claimed first place on the hardcover list. The new runner-up was Miniatures by John Scalzi (Subterranean). There were 56 nominated titles, down from 57 last month.

Old favorite, Neil Gaiman’s American Gods took the top spot on the paperback list, followed closely by The Bands of Mourning by Brandon Sanderson (book six in the Mistborn series). The new runner-up was book two of the Rowankind series, Jacey Bedford’s Silverwolf. There were 54 nominated titles, down from 59 last month.

Bolstered by a tie-in mini-series, Philip K. Dick’s classic The Man in the High Castle captured the number one spot on the trade paperback list, edging out second place finisher, The Martian by Andy Weir. The new runner-up was Ellen Klages’s Passing Strange (Tor.com Publishing). There were 69 nominated titles, up from 59 last month.

Movie novelization Star Wars: Rogue One by Alexander Freed took the top spot on the media-related and gaming-related list by a wide margin over last month’s winner and Star Wars: Rogue One’s prequel, Star Wars: Catalyst by James Luceno, which moved into second place. There were no runners-up. 30 titles were nominated, up from 25 last month.
