Standalone novel The Collapsing Empire by John Scalzi rose to the top of the hardcover list, followed by Kim Stanley Robinson’s New York 2140, which came in second for the second month. The new runner-up was Luna: Wolf Moon by Ian McDonald (Tor), the second book in the Luna series. There were 54 nominated titles, up from 51 last month.

Bolstered by the new television mini-series, American Gods: The Tenth Anniversary Edition by Neil Gaiman took first place on the paperback list, with a wide margin over George R.R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones. Shooting the Rift by Alex Stewart (Baen) was the new runner-up. There were 58 nominated titles, down from 67 last month.

James S.A. Corey’s Leviathan Wakes barely squeaked by the two second place finishers, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury and The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin, to claim the top spot on the trade paperback list. There were no new runners-up. We had 68 nominated titles, down from 71 last month.

Chuck Wendig’s Star Wars: Aftermath series continues to be a fan favorite, taking three spots out of the top five on our media-related & gaming-related list. First place went to Star Wars: Aftermath: Life Debt, while third and fourth places, respectively, went to Star Wars: Aftermath and Star Wars: Aftermath: Empire’s End. Star Wars: Thrawn by Timothy Zahn took second place. There were no new runners-up; 20 titles were nominated, down from 26 last month.
