Cory Doctorow’s latest standalone novel, Walkaway, leapfrogged from seventh place last month to the top of the hardcover list, barely edging out Assassin’s Fate by Robin Hobb (book three in the Fitz and the Fool trilogy) which took second place. The new runner-up was Cold Welcome by Elizabeth Moon (Del Rey), the first book in the Vatta’s Peace series. There were 53 nominated titles, down from 54 last month.

American Gods: The Tenth Anniversary Edition by Neil Gaiman remained in first place on the paperback list, with almost twice as many votes as second place finisher The Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger by Stephen King. A Tyranny of Queens by Foz Meadows (Angry Robot), book two in the Manifold Worlds series, was the new runner-up. There were 69 nominated titles, up from 58 last month.

Guy Gavriel Kay’s Children of Earth and Sky nabbed the top spot on the trade paperback list in its first month of release with a respectable margin over American Gods: The Tenth Anniversary Edition by Neil Gaiman, which came in second. There were no new runners-up. We had 73 nominated titles, up from 68 last month.

Last month’s second place finisher Star Wars: Thrawn by Timothy Zahn moved into first place on our media-related & gaming-related list, with Star Wars: Catalyst by James Luceno claiming second.
